How to get there?
Helensburgh is about 40 km south of Sydney Central (CBD) on the way to Wollongong. It is a pleasant 1.5 hour drive from most parts of Sydney. Plenty of free car parking is available at the temple.
By Train: Take the train from Central Station to Wollongong and get off at Helensburgh Railway Station. From there it is about 2 km to the temple. Buses leave from Helensburgh Railway Station every hour from 9.00 am till 4.00 pm.
By Road: The Temple is located off the Freeway (1) to Wollongong on Helensburgh Exit.
If you're coming from North or East of the city, take the Harbour/Eastern Distributor Tunnel, then around the airport & follow the Highway No.1 sign to Wollongong. Once you're past Waterfall station into the Freeway (1) for 5KM, take the first exit left off the freeway marked 'Helensburgh'. Take the roundabout and go straight on to Stanwell Park (Lawrence Hargreave Road). Within 100 metres, see Hindu Temple Sign, take left into Temple Road.
If you're coming from West or south of the city, best to take Highway (6) south (from Silverwater Road or from Hume Highway), past Bankstown, Menai and turn left at Heathcote Road (6), after 4km @McDonalds, turn right at Princes Highway (1) to Wollongong. Once you're on the freeway, past Waterfall station, take the first exit left off the freeway marked 'Helensburgh'. Take the roundabout and go straight on to Stanwell Park (Lawrence Hargreave Road). Within 100 metres, see Hindu Temple Sign, take left into Temple Road.
